AMENDMENT PUBLIC HEARING
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
PY 2023 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ALLOCATION PROGRAM
Wayne County applied to the Ohio Development of Development, Office of Community Infrastructure for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities Program, a HUD federally funded program administered by the State. The County received $360,000 for Program Year 2023 (PY’23) in CDBG Allocation funds. The eligibility for CDBG funds is dependent upon the County meeting applicable program requirements. The County
previously conducted public hearings to inform citizens about the general aspects of the Small Cities program requirements.
The following Community Development Allocation projects are under consideration for change for Program Year 2023 which encompasses a two year grant period:
Proposed Change to CDBG Project Amount of CDBG Funds Requested
Wayne County Road Improvement Project $278,992.37
Location: Hametown Road (from Edwards to Eastern)
Salt Creek Road (from Criswell to Mt. Hope)
The named project meets a national objective.
An Amendment Public Hearing will be held Friday March 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wayne County Administration Building Meeting Room on the 2 nd Floor, 428 W. Liberty St., Wooster, Ohio to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on the proposed activities listed above prior to the County submitting its applications to the Ohio Development Services Agency, Office of Community Development.
Citizens are encouraged to attend this meeting to express their views and comment on the County’s proposed PY’23 CDBG Community Development Allocation Grant program.
Please note that the County Administration Building is a handicapped accessible facility. If a participant will need auxiliary aids due to disability, please contact the Wayne County Planning Department at least five (5) days prior to the Public Hearing, at (330) 287-5426 in order to ensure that your needs will be met.
